Then there's the wholesale "directory" sites. You pay to get inside the member's area, you find lists of companies, most without websites, and few with any real product descriptions.

Write to these companies, and you'll quickly learn that this list is so outdated, it's probably from the 80's or 90's.

And good luck getting your membership fee back.
